I feel we all are at least a little annoyed with the league and its administration in the past few weeks. Mainly, they have shown time after time they feel as though they can do many things without letting other general managers fully aware--they just sort of slip out. Of course we are all aware of the first act of this in the Shawn Horcoff incident, by which Carolina's general manager, who we know as the league's authority decided on the 12-hour waiver pick-up rule. A rule that no other GM was aware of, and a few others, but most ridiculous to me is how several players in the league were edited. It is unfair and yet again an example of why this league needs GM intervention before making what is really irresponsible decisions. I know every GM here has seen a bit of bias behavior here and likely half the GM's won't see my post, because the administrators, or at least one (we all know who) can't take any kind of criticism and this will be deleted in an instant. But I need to urge all our general managers to come together and make sure the league has been fully established. I was very privileged to help progress some rules in this league with Hurricanes and Flyers GM. However, I can say that a large amount of contributions made to the league have not yet been implemented, and things I was promised have yet to make any such impact. My role in this league is above all else, to make sure fair play is happening--and then deal with my own team. I have at times been aggressive in getting my point across, but I think it is needed. I would love it if all general mangers send me an e-mail or private message so we can work together with all this.
I know we have some Canadians and east Atlantic (Like myself) members here, I hope the storm is not burdening anyone.
