Adrian Dater (AD): You must be disappointed in the season thus far?
ColoradoGM (CGM): Yes, we were hoping for better results but this year was about giving our youth as much ice time in all situations as possible. And we are very pleased with the devellopment of our young core group and our prospect pool.
AD: There have been rumours circulating that players such as Duchene and Stewart are being shopped.
CGM: Those are untrue. We at no time shopped any of of our core group. There has been alot of interest however as we near the deadline.
AD: Speaking of deadlines, will you be buyers, sellers, or hold firm?
CGM: We are holding firm. We are very hopeful with our young group, and with the addition of three first round picks to our very talented prospect pool, we feel we are 2 years away from true Cup contention.
AD: Well what do you say of the rumors of offers from eastern teams for Stewart, Duchene and Wolski?
CGM: Look, this is the SHL 2.0, anyone can be traded. But, for me to move any of my core group, I would need a solid offer. I refuse to take a quantity of middling picks and prospects, nor will I wait beyond the 2010 draft to use any picks offered for anyone. We have a talented young team. We are only missing a few pieces to bring it all together.
AD: Any comments on the rumors then?
CGM: I refuse to comment on any of those other than to say that IF they were real, hypothetically speaking, then they have to be improved upon if anything were to happen.
