In an attempt to clear salary cap room and eventually acquire Kovalchuk to an 8 yr/ 8.800M deal I just made a pretty large-scaled trade.

To NJ
-Phoenix's 1st round pick in 2011

TO PHX
-Brian Rolston
-New Jersey's 2011 3rd round pick, New Jersey's 2012 3rd round pick, New Jersey's 2013 2nd round pick, New Jersey's 2014 3rd round pick

depernding on where the PHX pick is, this is a good trade

you will really feel the lack of picks but having kovalchuk will cheer you up

Well I'm pumped now cause I got some nice free agent pick-ups.

Sort of lost some guys:

Namely,

Mike Mottau, Paul Martin, Yann Danis, Patrick Davis and Rod Pelley

But following the Rolston trade was able to sign

Tallinder (4 yr/1.300), Legace (1 yr/.665), Kubina (2 yr/3.200), Ondrus (1 yr/.530), and Chris Bourque (3 yr/.975) and Kovalchuk (7 yr/8.820)



I feel accomplished.

Also I want people to critique how I'm doing so far, so I will list my draft picks too

Round 2- (D) La Lande
Round 3- (C) Etem
Round 4- (RW) Macek
Round 5- (RW) Wright
Round 7- (G) Raymond

Yeah was lucky getting Etem, only traded up a few picks and as for Wright and Raymond, sort of traded off the charts, but I wanted Raymond most out of any other goaltender and Wright is someone that can just toss people around and bring some truculent hockey
