he has more drive and heart than any player in the league. That is more valuable than any other quality. Thats not something to be overrated about. Way more players have more heart and drive.

Players who have more heart and drive:
Sidney Crosby (obvious) Ovechkin (may not win, but he wants it just as much as anyone) Eric Staal (won the Cup too, and he didn't have Kane, Seabrook, or Keith to lean on, or anybody even near their caliber) Getzlaf (against Wings, anyway) Mike Richards

You just made me fall out of my seat. Both Staal and Getzlaf are so inconsistent. Scott Nichol has way more heart and drive. He's a 5'9" player who has absolutely no talent (no offense Scotty), but makes a living by working his butt off each night, and in the weight room, and led the league in FO% and was 12th in hits.

You are seriously underestimating Staal's work ethic. Maybe if he played with better linemates than Tuomo Ruutu and Jussi Jokinen he would be more consistent....you always call it "homerism" when I tell you just how good some of Carolina's young players are....but Im pretty negative for a fan around here... and there are plenty of players here that I hate just as much as I love Staal, Skinner, or Ward....I know talent.

How would you know that these guys have more heart and drive? You know none of them in real life, nor do you know at all what they are like in games. Ive met NHL'ers (players, coaches, trainers) who actually know what these players are like, and they all say Toews has the most drive.
Watch the world juniors, stanley cup, olympics, hawks games. Toews is ridiculous hard working and shows why he has the most heart and drive in the league.

Staal's work ethic is around the bottom of the league.

Disregarding rookie year, Staal has put up 70 points or more every year in the league, Toews has never even reached 70 Staal played on a higher line than Toews on Team Canada Staal won the Cup with a terrible supporting cast compared to Toews Staal won the gold in Juniors too I see nearly every game he plays, if you put a Simon Gagne on his Left and a good assist RW on his Right he reaches 100 points every year, no questions asked He works just as hard as anyone, Rod Brind A'mour says how hard-working he is, and Brindy was top 5 best conditioned player throughout his whole time on the league. He was a machine. and if he says Staal works had, than Staal works hard.

Boston You are so right Toews is the best all around player in the nhl fail. Crosby is better on Offense and Defense, Ovechkin is so much better on offense it makes up for the defense.

How about putting some sort of logic into your posts instead of just randomly capitalizing words to try to make yourself look better?

I never said Toews was the best all round player. I agree with others that Crosby, Ovechkin, M.Richards are better all around players. Im just saying he is the hardest worker with the most drive and heart. And that is coming from the trainer of the Leafs and Mike Babcock, both of whom told us that at my OHL U-16 camp.
